Lost a ring on a beach in Cyprus?
Grey sand on Dhekelia Road, beige sand by the Pervolia lighthouse, golden sand at Landa and Kapparis and flat rocks at Aoratoi.
Something that came off on a Cyprus beach is not gone for good the moment you notice. The narrower the ground it could be in, the better the chance, so the beach, the court or row of sunbeds, and whether you were in the sea or on dry sand all count.
Ring Seekers is a lost ring and jewellery recovery service that works with experienced local metal detectorists to search for a ring, wedding band, watch, keys or phone lost in Cyprus. Tell us what happened and where. We choose an experienced detectorist who knows the beach, brief them with your map and photos, and tell you honestly if the odds are poor.
Three area pages, listed further down, cover Ayia Napa and Protaras with Larnaca, Limassol with Pissouri, and Paphos with Coral Bay, Polis and Latchi. This page sends you to the right one and takes in beaches none of them mentions.
Gravel near Ayia Napa harbour, grey sand on Dhekelia Road
Close to the Ayia Napa fishing harbour, two beaches are rocky. Katsarka is covered in fine gravel with only limited sandy parts, and Loukkos tou Mandi, west of the harbour, is a mixture of pebbly patches and patches of fine golden sand, with relatively calm water over both.
In the Larnaca district, Pyla beach, along Dhekelia Road, has fine grey sand, and Yanathes in Voroklini is fine sand in brown and beige, both with calm, shallow water. Tell us whether your feet were on gravel, pebbles or sand when it went; here that narrows things about as much as the beach name does.
Handled in one chat
Whoever replies arranges it
There is no switchboard. The reply to your WhatsApp comes from the person who will look for a detectorist, brief them and pass the result back to you.
The brief is your pictures
The detectorist heading to Pyla or Kapparis goes with the pin you dropped and the photos you took from that spot.
Straight about the difficult ones
Some losses are far harder than others, such as a ring gone between rocks rather than on open sand. If yours is one of those, we say so at the start.
What to send first
The beach name and a map pin come first. After that, any photo showing the sunbed, court or rock you were near, and a picture of the missing piece.
The cost comes before the search
We explain the costs before any search is booked.
Our Ring Finder Service Locations in Cyprus
Where to look for your beach in Cyprus
The first three cards send you to an area page. The rest take in Kastella, Pyla, Voroklini, Pervolia and Kato Pyrgos.
Area pages first, then the Larnaca coast and Tylliria
Ayia Napa, Protaras and Larnaca
Nissi Bay, Fig Tree Bay, Cape Greco with Limnara beach, the Larnaca seafront and the Salt Lake trail are all on the Ayia Napa, Protaras and Larnaca page. Two beaches it leaves out: Potami, near Paralimni, a mix of sand and pebbles, and Kapparis, a small strip of fine golden sand at the end of a track, close to the main strip of Protaras.
Limassol and Pissouri
At Aoratoi, in the Pyrgos area, semi-circular sandy coves and large flat rocks lie parallel to the shore, and a small jetty crosses the rocks to deeper water. Say if you were in a cove, on the rocks or off the jetty. The city beaches, the marina, Lady's Mile, Akrotiri Salt Lake and Pissouri Bay are described one by one under Limassol and Pissouri.
Paphos, Coral Bay, Polis and Latchi
Coral Bay, the Kato Paphos beaches, Polis Chrysochous, Latchi and the Blue Lagoon on the Akamas are taken one at a time on the Paphos, Coral Bay, Polis and Latchi page. Geroskipou has two beaches next to each other: the municipal one, which that page describes, and Geroskipou Laiki, sandy with calm, shallow water. Tell us which one you were on.
Kastella, by the Larnaca fishing shelter
Kastella lies by the Psarolimano fishing shelter in Larnaca, fine brown and beige sand with calm, clear, shallow water, and traditional fish taverns all round it. Say whether you went into the water, and point out the sunbed you used.
Pyla and Voroklini
Pyla beach, on Dhekelia Road, has courts for beach volleyball and beach tennis, and beach tennis tournaments are held on its sand. If a bracelet or watch went during a game, tell us the court and the end you played from. Yanathes, in Voroklini, is a sandy strip with calm, clear, shallow water.
Faros Beach at Pervolia
Just south of Pervolia at Cape Kiti, Faros Beach is named after its lighthouse. It is a strip of fine beige sand with calm, shallow water, plenty of trees and a small volleyball court. Photos that take in the lighthouse from where you sat help pin down your spot.
Kato Pyrgos in Tylliria
Kato Pyrgos, in Tylliria, is a village with a coastal front and a fishing shelter of its own. No area page covers it, so tell us whether the loss was on the shore or around the shelter, and add a pin.

The steps after your first message
Most of it can be done from a sunbed or a departure lounge.
A message saying what went
On WhatsApp, tell us what is missing, which beach you were on and what you were doing, whether swimming, playing, eating or walking.
Show us the beach
Share your location from the spot if you are still there, or mark it on the map later. Beach photos from that day help, and so does one of the item.
A detectorist gets the brief
We find a detectorist who can get to that part of the coast and give them your pin, your photos and everything you told us.
You say go, then you hear the result
You choose whether the search goes ahead. Once the detectorist is done at the beach, we message you with what happened.
Questions about Cyprus
Could a watch lost at Kastella have come off at a fish tavern instead of on the beach?
It could have. Kastella sits beside the Psarolimano fishing shelter with traditional fish taverns all round it, and restaurants, bars and kiosks close by, so the walk from sunbed to table is part of the ground. Mark the spot on the sand, name the tavern, and send a picture of the watch.
Does the gravel at Katsarka make a dropped earring harder to place?
Katsarka is a rocky beach covered in fine gravel, with only limited sandy parts, so the first thing to settle is which of the two you were on, because that tells a detectorist what ground to cover first. Say roughly where on the beach you sat, and send a photo of the earring that is left.
A ring slipped off somewhere on the flat rocks at Aoratoi. Can that ground be searched?
It depends where it landed. At Aoratoi the flat rocks sit close to the shore, alongside semi-circular sandy coves, and all of that is ground a detectorist can work through. If it fell off the jetty into the deeper water beyond the rocks, it is a long shot, and you would hear that from us first.
Does the small volleyball court at Faros Beach, Pervolia, help narrow down a phone lost during a game?
Yes, it gives the search an edge to start from. Faros Beach has a small volleyball court on its fine beige sand, with water sports along the coast and food and drink close by. Tell us where your bag and towel were in relation to the court, and whether you went into the calm, shallow water afterwards.
Kapparis is a small beach. Does that make an Oura ring lost while swimming easier to place?
On the sand, a small beach helps. In the water, what counts is your route, so mark where you went in and say whether you headed out from the sand or swam parallel to it. Kapparis has fine golden sand and crystal-clear water. A photo of the ring's colour and finish helps too.
A necklace went somewhere near Voroklini or Pyla, and we are not sure which beach it was.
The sand may settle it. Yanathes, in Voroklini, is fine sand in shades of brown and beige, and Pyla beach, on Dhekelia Road, has fine grey sand. If you remember beach tennis courts, that points to Pyla. A map pin clears up any doubt.
We swam somewhere between Nissi Bay and Makronissos when a wedding band went. Is that all one beach?
Not quite. Landa lies halfway between the two, a natural bay of fine golden sand with calm, crystal-clear water, and each of the three is a beach in its own right. Share a pin from where your towel lay. The area page for Ayia Napa, Protaras and Larnaca has more on Nissi Bay and Makronissos.

A pin from your sunbed
Open WhatsApp and send us a pin from where you were sitting, with the beach name and a line on what went missing. If you have already left Cyprus, a pin placed later on the map works too.
