Bermuda
Lost a wedding ring on a Bermuda beach?
Pink sand on the South Shore from Horseshoe Bay to Warwick Long Bay, Elbow Beach in Paget, and Tobacco Bay and Clearwater Beach at the East End.
Searching for a wedding band lost at Horseshoe Bay is possible, on the pink sand or in the water off it. It comes down to whether you can put yourself back on one part of that wide crescent: which end, how far out you were, and what you could see on the cliffs behind you.
Ring Seekers is a lost ring and jewelry recovery service that works with experienced local metal detectorists to search for a ring, wedding band, watch, keys or phone lost in Bermuda.
Tell us what happened and where. We choose an experienced detectorist who knows the beach, brief them with your map and photos, and tell you honestly if the odds are poor.
The South Shore bluffs, the sheltered East End
The South Shore is a line of limestone bluffs, pink sand beaches and small coves, with South Shore Park running from Warwick Long Bay to Horseshoe Bay, and the water there can get a little choppy. At the East End, Tobacco Bay near the Town of St. George is a sheltered bay with shallow water among big rocks, and Clearwater Beach and Turtle Bay on Cooper's Island have calm, shallow water.
All around the island the reefs are close to the shore and close to the surface, so people snorkel straight off the beach at many of them.

A single WhatsApp contact
From your first message, one person reads everything you send and answers you, whether you are still at your hotel or back home.
A brief the detectorist can walk into
Your pins, photos and notes on the day go to the detectorist, down to which end of the beach and which rocks you were near.
Straight answers about boat days
A ring dropped over the side on a boat trip out to the offshore reefs or wrecks is a long shot, and you would hear that from us first.
Costs are part of the first reply
We explain the costs before any search is booked, so you can weigh them before deciding.
Beaches from Southampton to St. George's
The South Shore beaches first, then Elbow Beach in Paget and the East End. Each card says what the beach is like and what we need to know if something went missing there.
Bermuda beach by beach
Horseshoe Bay Beach
Horseshoe Bay, in Southampton Parish, is a wide crescent of pink sand curved like a horseshoe, with limestone cliffs round it and calm water sheltered by the cove. People swim, snorkel, bodysurf and play volleyball here, and rent loungers, boogie boards and snorkel gear. Port Royal Cove, at the eastern end, is an enclosed, shallower part where small children play. Tell us which part of the beach you were on.
Warwick Long Bay and its coves
Warwick Long Bay stretches for half a mile of pink sand, with jagged rocks along the shore and a small coral island just offshore, and the snorkeling is excellent along the bay. A trail through the dunes of South Shore Park links it with Horseshoe Bay, and on the way are Jobson's Cove, closed off by tall limestone so the water stays calm and shallow, and the twin coves of Chaplin Bay and Stonehole Bay. On a beach this long, the nearest rock or cove is the best marker.
Astwood Cove and Southlands Beach
Astwood Cove, in Warwick, sits below Astwood Park and steep cliffs, down a winding trail, and it is popular for weddings. Southlands Beach, a quieter South Shore beach, is across South Road from Southlands National Park. If the loss was on the trail down to Astwood Cove, say so, as well as where you sat.
Church Bay
Church Bay, in Southampton, is the place for snorkeling straight from shore: high cliffs above, and a ribbon of reef close in, with parrotfish and angelfish around it. Snorkel gear can be rented at the concession above the beach. Tell us where you went in and how far out along the reef you swam.
Elbow Beach, Paget
Elbow Beach, in Paget, is a stretch of soft sand and clear water with gentle slopes, good for swimming and sunbathing, with snorkeling on the nearby coral reefs. In winter it turns into a spot for kite surfers. Pin where you laid your towel, and say whether you went in for a swim, a snorkel or a kite session.
John Smith's Bay
John Smith's Bay is a small, pretty beach popular with locals, not far from Hamilton. The snorkeling is best to the right as you look out to sea, where fish gather by the rocks. Say which side of the beach you were on.
Tobacco Bay
Tobacco Bay, a short walk from the Town of St. George, has soft white sand, clear turquoise water and limestone rocks that shelter the bay and draw the fish. People snorkel among the rock formations and rent paddleboards and kayaks, and there are bonfire evenings on the beach in summer. Tell us which rocks you swam round, or where you sat at the evening fire.
Clearwater Beach and Turtle Bay
Clearwater Beach and Turtle Bay are on Cooper's Island at the south-eastern end of Bermuda, near L.F. Wade International Airport, with calm, shallow water. Locals come on weekends, and walking trails run through the Cooper's Island Nature Reserve behind the beaches. If you walked the trails as well as swimming, give us the route.

Four steps to a search in Bermuda
From Horseshoe Bay to Cooper's Island, the order is the same.
Start the chat
Say what you lost, on which beach, and at what time of day you last had it.
Your spot, pinned and photographed
A map pin for your spot and a photo taken from it, plus a picture of the ring, watch or earring, or one like it.
Finding a detectorist for that shore
We look for a metal detectorist who can get to that part of Bermuda and pass on your pin, photos and notes in full.
Go ahead, or not
It is your call whether a search is booked. If it goes ahead, you are told afterwards exactly what was covered and whether anything came up.
Questions about Bermuda
The waves at Horseshoe Bay were fun until I noticed my wedding band was gone.
Tell us which part of the beach you went in from, how far out you were catching waves, and whether you were bodysurfing or on a rented boogie board. Horseshoe Bay is a wide crescent, so a photo from your spot that shows the cliffs or the rocks at either end helps place you.
One of my earrings came out while I was playing with the kids at Port Royal Cove.
Port Royal Cove is the enclosed, shallower part at the eastern end of Horseshoe Bay, which keeps the area to go over small. Say whether you were sitting on the sand or standing in the water, and send a close photo of the other earring.
My phone went missing somewhere on the trail from Horseshoe Bay to Warwick Long Bay.
The trail runs through the dunes of South Shore Park, past Jobson's Cove, Chaplin Bay and Stonehole Bay. List where you stopped, for a swim, a photo or a rest, and roughly when. Photos a friend took on the way help place each stop.
An engagement ring went missing at a wedding on Astwood Cove.
Astwood Cove sits below steep cliffs and is reached by a winding trail from Astwood Park, so both the beach and the path down are in play. Ask the photographer for the full set of pictures with their times, and pin where the ceremony took place.
My watch came off during a winter kite session at Elbow Beach.
Tell us where you launched and landed, how far out you rode, and whether you came off the board. If the strap gave way on the sand while you were rigging or packing up, that is a much smaller area, so say which it could have been.
Could an Oura ring lost snorkeling at Tobacco Bay be found?
Tobacco Bay is sheltered, with shallow water around big limestone rocks, so the first thing to tell us is which rocks you swam round and where you went in and out. Add whether you had rented a paddleboard or kayak that day, and a picture of the ring's color and size.
We lost our scooter keys at Clearwater Beach on Cooper's Island.
Work back through the day: where you parked, where you swam, and whether you walked the nature reserve trails or went on to Turtle Bay. Pin each stop in order, and describe the key ring and anything hanging from it.
A necklace came off while I was snorkeling at Church Bay.
The reef at Church Bay starts close to shore, so tell us where you went in, how far along the reef you swam and where you came out. Describe the chain, the clasp and any pendant, and say whether you had noticed the clasp was loose earlier.
