Lost a wedding ring in St Kitts or Nevis?

Kiteboarding at Frigate Bay on St Kitts, sunsets on Pinney's Beach across the Narrows on Nevis.

A wedding band that came off on St Kitts or Nevis can be searched for, whether it went at a kite beach or under a beach bar table. Two things decide it: what was under it when it fell, and how exactly you can put a pin on that place.

Ring Seekers is a lost ring and jewelry recovery service that works with experienced local metal detectorists to search for a ring, wedding band, watch, keys or phone lost on St Kitts and Nevis. Tell us what happened and where. We choose an experienced detectorist who knows the beach, brief them with your map and photos, and tell you honestly if the odds are poor.

If your day included a ferry or a water taxi across the Narrows, mention it, along with the island where you last had it on.

From the black sand of northern St Kitts across the strait to Nevis

On St Kitts the sand changes as you go around the island: black sand in the north, gray or white sand along the south. Reef-protected water makes the beaches good for swimming and snorkeling. Conaree Beach and Half Moon Bay are different: they face the Atlantic, and people bodysurf there.

Nevis lies across the Narrows, the strait that separates the two islands and divides the Caribbean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean. It has both golden and black sand beaches. Pinney's Beach runs along the west side, Lovers Beach and Nisbet Beach are on the north coast, and Herbert's Beach is in a remote setting on the east side.

St Kitts or Nevis, the same person

St Kitts or Nevis, the person who answers your first WhatsApp message follows it through to the result.

What the detectorist works from

The detectorist works from your map pin and your photos of that stretch of shore, not from a general description of the bay.

If it looks unlikely, you hear so

When a find looks unlikely, that is in our first replies to you, not held back until later.

The last time you saw it

Tell us what you were doing when you last had it on, swimming, kiteboarding or sitting at a beach bar, and roughly what time that was.

Cost on the table early

We explain the costs before any search is booked.

Beaches on both sides of the Narrows

Four cards cover St Kitts and four cover Nevis. Anything without its own card, from Basseterre to South Friars Bay, is named in the list that closes this section.

Frigate Bay to Herbert's Beach

Frigate Bay Beach and the Strip, St Kitts

Frigate Bay's trade winds make it a place for kiteboarding, with windsurfing at North Frigate Bay. People also jet ski, paddleboard and parasail, and there are bars along the Strip. Something lost here may be on the sand, in the shallows or out where the kites and boards go, so tell us which.

Cockleshell Bay and Turtle Beach, St Kitts

Cockleshell Bay is on the Southeast Peninsula, directly on the Narrows with Nevis in view, and Turtle Beach is at the far end of the same peninsula. Both have calm water and food stands, and the stand nearest your towels is a handy point to put in your message.

White House Bay and Major's Bay, St Kitts

At White House Bay, a rocky reef shelters a sunken tugboat, with schools of fish around it, and people snorkel there or simply float. Car ferries leave Major's Bay for Cades Bay and for Charlestown on Nevis.

Dieppe Bay, Conaree Beach and Half Moon Bay, St Kitts

Dieppe Bay is a small, palm-lined black sand beach protected by a major reef, good for snorkeling. Conaree Beach is a narrow strip of gray-black sand facing the Atlantic, where locals and visitors bodysurf and snorkel along the reef. Half Moon Bay also faces the Atlantic, and people bodysurf there too.

Pinney's Beach, Nevis

Pinney's Beach runs along the west side of Nevis on the outskirts of Charlestown, and its south end is a short walk from town. Beach bars are spread along uncrowded stretches of sand, a resort sits on the beach, and villas open onto the sand at its northern end. People swim off it, and the nearest bar or building tells us which stretch you were on.

Oualie Beach, Nevis

Oualie Beach is on the northwest tip of Nevis, with sunset views across to St Kitts. Families play on the shore or snorkel over the reefs among tropical fish, a resort's cottages open onto the sand, and water taxis from St Kitts arrive in Oualie Bay.

Lovers Beach and Nisbet Beach, Nevis

Lovers Beach, on the northern coast, is secluded, with soft golden sand and tranquil turquoise water, and families snorkel there. Nisbet Beach, also on the north coast, is surrounded by palm trees.

Cades Bay and Herbert's Beach, Nevis

Cades Bay is a tranquil bay just outside Charlestown, and a car ferry from Major's Bay on St Kitts comes in here. Herbert's Beach, over on the east side of the island, is secluded, in a remote setting.

How a search on St Kitts or Nevis gets set up

It works the same way whichever side of the Narrows you were on.

1

Start on WhatsApp

On WhatsApp, say what came off, on which island, and what you were doing.

2

Mark the spot on a map

Drop a pin on the map where you think it went. Photos of that part of the beach, and one of the item itself, go with it.

3

Someone who can reach that beach

We find a detectorist who can get to that beach on St Kitts or Nevis, and brief them with your pin, photos and notes.

4

The result, whatever it is

The search is arranged, and afterward we tell you honestly how it went.

Questions about Saint Kitts and Nevis

Which stretch of Pinney's Beach should I name for a wedding band lost at sunset?

The one you sat on. Pinney's stretches for four miles down the west side of Nevis, from the villas at its northern end to the south end near Charlestown, so that stretch is where a search would begin. Pin where you sat, and say whether the band went while you were in the water or on the sand.

Where you rigged up. Frigate Bay has over a mile of white sand, and kiteboarders have room to spread out along it, so a pin at your setup spot tells us which part of the beach to start on. Say too whether the watch went on the sand, in the shallows as you launched, or farther out.

Cockleshell Bay sits right on the Narrows, looking across to Nevis, and its water is calm. Say how deep you were standing, waist deep or only paddling, which food stand you were facing, and add a photo of the bracelet.

Water taxis from St Kitts arrive in Oualie Bay, and the same bay has reefs where families snorkel, so say whether the phone slipped from the boat, into the shallows as you stepped off, or later on a swim, and pin where the boat came in.

As close as you can make it, because an earring is small. Lovers Beach is on the north coast of Nevis, with soft golden sand and tranquil water that families snorkel in. Mark where your towels were and the place you walked into the water.

With the spot where you left your things. Conaree is a narrow strip of gray-black sand facing the Atlantic, where people bodysurf and snorkel along the reef. Pin that spot, trace the way you walked, and tell us whether the keys were on you when you went in.

How far out you swam, and when you last felt the ring on your finger. A rocky reef shelters the tug, and people snorkel among the fish around it or simply float around the bay, so the distance from shore matters.

It does, because it splits the day between two islands. Passenger ferries run between Basseterre Pier and Charlestown Pier, so list the places you were on each side and tell us where you last remember having it on.
