The music at Kamenovo went on all afternoon, and somewhere in it the chain left your neck
Kamenovo sits between Bečići and Pržno, right beside the coast road, with a seaside path back towards Budva.
A chain lost during a summer day party on Kamenovo can still be looked for if it came off on the sand or in water you could stand in. The deciding thing is how well you can place your afternoon: which part of the bay, and whether you went into the sea.

Kamenovo is one of the smaller sandy beaches on the Riviera, so there is less ground to cover than on the long beach at Bečići along the path.
Pin the bay before you leave Kamenovo
Before you go, lift the towel slowly and run a hand along the edges of the sunbed cushion and inside any cover-up you took off. Drop one pin on your phone's map where you lay and a second where you walked into the sea. Among the photos from that afternoon, find the latest one where the chain is still on your neck; its timestamp tells us when it was last seen.
The Riviera runs from Jaz, on the Kotor side of Budva, past the town beaches and Bečići to Sveti Stefan and Petrovac. A seaside path joins Budva, Bečići and Kamenovo, and town buses go to Sveti Stefan and Petrovac. If you walked that path or took a bus the same day, give us the stretch you walked or the stop where you got off.

Jaz, the town beaches, and on round to Petrovac
Budva has its own beaches under the Old Town walls, and the Riviera carries on along the coast road to Petrovac.
Jaz
Jaz lies outside Budva on the road towards Kotor and Tivat. It is pebbly along the shore and sandy once you are in the water, with a camp, a car park and several restaurants and cafés in the shade behind it.
Slovenska plaža, Mogren and the Old Town beaches
Slovenska plaža is Budva's biggest town beach, starting at the town harbour. It is pebbly with sandy patches and split into many leased bathing areas with cafés and sports courts, so the bathing area you chose narrows the search. Beside the Old Town walls are two pebble beaches, Ričardova glava, busy with young people in the afternoons, and Pizana near the marina. Mogren, a short walk from the Old Town, faces south.
Sveti Nikola island
Sveti Nikola lies off Budva and is also known as Školj, or as Budva's Hawaii. Its beaches are sandy. Boats and small craft bring people across to a landing on the island in the tourist season, and the smaller beaches on the south side, below sheer cliffs, can only be reached by boat.
Bečići and Rafailovići
Bečići beach is sandy and known for sand of many colours, with a long promenade running alongside. It is divided into many hotel and public bathing areas and runs about 2,000 metres from Cape Zavala to Cape Đevištinje, so on a beach this long the bathing area in front of you matters most. A rock known as the Green, or Blue, Rock stands right at the way into Rafailovići.
Kamenovo and Pržno
Kamenovo is right beside the coast road from Budva, with a car park close by, cafés and restaurants next to the sand, and olive trees and thick greenery behind. Many daytime parties are held there in summer. Pržno, next along the road, is sandy and partly rocky, in front of the village that shares its name, with olive groves behind and plenty of restaurants.
Sveti Stefan, Miločer and Crvena glavica
Two beaches lie either side of the approach to Sveti Stefan. Miločer, also called King's Beach, has fine sand and is surrounded by a park of exotic trees, and Queen's Beach is in a cove at the entrance to Miločer Park. Crvena glavica, close to Sveti Stefan below the road to Petrovac, is a group of small sandy beaches known for reddish sand and rock. Most can be reached by car, and some only by boat or by swimming.
Perazića Do, Petrovac, Lučice and Buljarica
The beach at Petrovac is mostly reddish sand, with a laid-out shoreline and a promenade lined with rooms, hotels, cafés and restaurants. Lučice is south of the town in a bay between two headlands, ringed by cypress and pine, with fine golden-yellow sand and a shallow bottom. Perazića Do, just north of the town, is a short sandy beach shaded by pines. Past Lučice, Buljarica is the longest beach on the Riviera, mostly pebble with fine sand in its central part and a camp and restaurants behind it.

Pebbles on the shore, sand under the water
The beaches here change from pebbles to sand, and a few are reached by boat.
Pebble or sand underfoot
Jaz is pebbles along the edge with sand in the water. Slovenska plaža is pebbly with sandy patches, Ričardova glava and Pizana are pebbly, and Mogren, Kamenovo and Lučice are sandy. On Slovenska plaža in particular, say whether your towel lay on pebbles or on one of the sandy patches.
Out past standing depth
The sandy slopes of the sea floor here are covered in posidonia seagrass. If you were swimming beyond where you could stand, tell us what you could see on the shore. A ring lost that far out is a long shot, and you would hear that from us first.
Beaches you reach by boat
The smaller beaches on the south side of Sveti Nikola can only be reached by boat, some of the Crvena glavica beaches only by boat or by swimming, and Drobni pijesak is easiest to reach from the sea. For a loss on one of these, say where the boat left from and where it landed you.
Questions about the Budva Riviera
How much of Kamenovo would need going over for a chain lost during an afternoon party?
Not a great deal. Kamenovo is a small sandy bay right by the coast road, and what narrows it further is where you spent the afternoon, on a sunbed or in and out of the sea. Pin both places, and say whether you left along the seaside path towards Bečići or up to the road.
Jaz seems to be two beaches. How do I tell you which one we were on?
It is one beach in two parts, one about 800 metres long and the other about 400 metres, so naming the part you were on takes a lot of beach out of the search. The camp, the car park and the restaurants sit in the shade behind the beach, and where you parked helps place you. The shore is pebbles and the bottom in the water is sand. Say which of the two parts you were on when the wedding band went.
Our sunglasses, the pair with metal frames, went into the water as we got off the boat at Sveti Nikola.
Boats carry people from Slovenska plaža and the Old Town across to a landing on the island. Tell us where you boarded, and whether it happened at the main landing or at one of the smaller beaches on the south side, where boats come in below the cliffs.
The watch was on my wrist at Bečići and gone by the time we had walked into the Old Town.
That walk follows Bečići beach, passes through the tunnel at Zavala and carries on along Slovenska plaža to the Old Town. Tell us the point where you started walking, any café where you sat down, and whether you took the watch off at any stage, to swim or to wash your hands.
An Oura ring slipped off while we stood in the shallows at Lučice.
Lučice is a sandy bay south of Petrovac with a shallow bottom, held between two headlands. A pin, plus a line on whether you stood near the middle of the bay or towards one end, gives a detectorist a close place to begin. Send the size and finish, and roughly how long you had been in the water.
One earring came out at Mogren, and we can't remember which beach we were on.
Mogren is two small sandy beaches joined by a tunnel, reached along a path from the Old Town side. If you went through the tunnel, you were on the second one. Keep the earring that is left and photograph it in the palm of your hand, which shows its size better than words.
A bracelet came off on the beach beside the approach to Sveti Stefan.
There are two sandy beaches there, one on each side of the approach, known as the East and West beaches. Say which side you were on and how far up from the water you lay. The island makes a clear reference point, so a picture taken from your towel lets us work out the angle.
We stayed at Pržno until the sun went down, and a phone was left in the sand.
Pržno faces west and gets the sun until it sets, which draws many people to it. It is a sandy beach, partly rocky, in front of the old fishing village of the same name. Pin where your towels were and the rocks nearest to you. Tell us the phone model and its case colour, and whether it was in a pocket, a bag or loose on the towel.
