Lost a wedding ring in Goa or elsewhere in India?
North and South Goa, Kovalam in Kerala, and Radhanagar Beach on Havelock.
A ring lost on an Indian beach can be looked for when you can tie it to a place: the shack you ate at, the stretch of Calangute you swam from, the end of Radhanagar you walked to. The more exactly you can describe the spot, the better the chances.
Ring Seekers is a lost ring and jewellery recovery service that works with experienced local metal detectorists to search for a ring, wedding band, watch, keys or phone lost in India. Tell us what happened and where. We choose an experienced detectorist who knows the beach, brief them with your map and photos, and tell you honestly if the odds are poor.
Goa's long western shore, Kerala's crescents and an Andaman island
North Goa's beaches follow one another up the coast, Candolim, Calangute and Baga, then Anjuna with Vagator next door, with water sports by day and shacks and parties at night. In South Goa, Colva and Benaulim are fishing beaches as well as holiday ones, and Palolem sits in its bay between two headlands.
In Kerala, Kovalam has three crescent-shaped beaches in a bay formed by a rocky headland. In the Andaman Islands, Radhanagar Beach on Swaraj Dweep, earlier known as Havelock Island, has powdery white sand and calm turquoise water.
Working with us from anywhere
Somebody who stays with it
Your first WhatsApp message is answered by the person who later finds the detectorist and reports what came of the search.
The detectorist has your notes
Before the search starts, the detectorist has your pin, your photos and the details of your day, down to the shack or the headland you mentioned.
A realistic view
Calangute's crowded sand and Radhanagar's calm, netted water are very different cases, and we are straight with you about which one yours resembles.
What to put in your message
Which beach and which end, the day and hour, what you were doing, and any shack or stall you ate at or sat near.
No surprises on cost
We explain the costs before any search is booked, and the go-ahead is always yours.
Indian beaches we cover
North Goa, then South Goa, then Kovalam and Radhanagar, with a short note on each beach and what to tell us about it.
Goa, Kerala and the Andaman Islands
Calangute, North Goa
Calangute, often called the Queen of Beaches, is a long seven-kilometre sweep of sand and one of the most popular beaches in India, with huge crowds. Parasailing and jet skis run by day, and at night the shacks on the beachfront fill with music and food. The waves can rise high and the beach drops suddenly, so it matters a lot whether you were on the sand or in the sea.
Baga and Candolim, North Goa
Baga, beyond Calangute, has its creek and a base for water sports and sea fishing. Candolim, the first of these beaches coming from Panaji, has parasailing and water skiing. Name the shack or landmark nearest to where you were.
Anjuna, North Goa
Anjuna has breeze-catching palms, soft sand, a rocky formation over a cove of whitish sand and black rock running into the sea. Its weekly flea market draws crowds every Wednesday, so say whether you were on the beach, on the rocks or at the market.
Vagator, North Goa
Next to Anjuna, Vagator is a crescent-shaped bay with red cliffs and palm trees, split by a headland with a car park into Big Vagator and Little Vagator. Little Vagator is known for its sunset parties, so say which side of the headland you were on.
Palolem, South Goa
Palolem is a white sand beach facing a blue bay between two headlands, with small wooded islands on the northern headland. It is a fishing beach too, with shacks selling food, souvenirs and clothes, and it has become known for silent parties with headphones.
Colva and Benaulim, South Goa
Colva has palm-fringed golden sand, fishing trawlers lined up offshore and trinket stalls and drink stands on the sand by moonlight. Just to the south, Benaulim is a more tranquil fishing beach that fills with local visitors in the evenings and at weekends.
Radhanagar Beach, Havelock
Radhanagar, on Swaraj Dweep, has powdery white sand, calm turquoise water and netted swimming zones where the depth changes gradually. The northern end is the favourite place for the sunset, and there are shaded spots under tall trees. Elephant Beach nearby is the one for snorkelling.
Kovalam, Kerala
Kovalam's three crescent beaches, Lighthouse Beach, Hawa (Eve's) Beach and Samudra Beach, sit in a bay formed by a rocky headland. Lighthouse Beach has gentle waves and shallow water, with the red and white lighthouse at its southern end, and catamaran rides and a lively evening scene add to the day.

Setting a search in motion
One WhatsApp chat covers everything, before or after you fly home.
Say what happened
Tell us the item, the beach, the day and time, and what you were doing when you last had it.
Add a pin and pictures
Drop a pin on the spot and add a photo of the beach around it, plus any picture you have of the item.
We line up a detectorist
Goa, Kerala and the Andamans are far apart, so the job is finding someone who can reach your beach; they then get everything you sent.
Agreed first, reported after
Nothing happens until you agree, and when the search is finished we tell you exactly how it went.
Questions about India
My wedding band slipped off in the waves at Calangute. Is there any point?
It depends on where. Calangute's waves can rise high and the beach drops suddenly, so a band lost out beyond the shallows is a long shot, and you would hear that from us first. If it could have come off at the water's edge or on the sand, name the nearest shack and send a pin.
A ring went missing at a beach shack in Baga one night. What do you need?
The name of the shack, where your table or sunbed was, and the time. Tell us too whether you walked down to the water or along the beach afterwards, since that decides how wide the search needs to be.
I think my bracelet came off on the rocks at Anjuna.
Anjuna has a rocky formation over a cove of whitish sand and black rock running into the sea, so say whether you were on the rocks, in the cove or on the main stretch of sand. A photo from where you sat helps us tell which.
An Oura ring fell off while we were getting out of a fishing boat at Palolem.
Palolem is a fishing beach, and fishermen take visitors across to the islands and out to spot dolphins. Pin where you stepped off, say how deep the water was, and whether you were coming back from the islands at the northern end or from farther out.
We lost a phone on Colva beach one evening among the stalls.
Colva's trinket stalls and drink stands set up on the sand in the evening, so name any stall you stopped at, pin the spot and say which way you walked. Fishermen's trawlers are lined up offshore, which can help you describe the view.
An earring went at Benaulim on a busy weekend evening.
Benaulim fills with local visitors in the evenings and at weekends, so the sooner a detectorist can get there with your pin the better. Say where you came onto the beach and how far you walked.
My ring came off while swimming at Radhanagar on our honeymoon.
Radhanagar's netted swimming zones have water that deepens gradually, which helps. Tell us which part of the beach you swam from, how deep the water was when you noticed, and whether you had walked to the northern end for the sunset.
Could a watch lost at Lighthouse Beach in Kovalam be found?
Lighthouse Beach has gentle waves and shallow water, which helps. Tell us how far you were from the lighthouse at the southern end, whether you went on a catamaran ride, and where you left your things.
India
Goa, Kerala or the Andamans, tell us where
Message us the beach and the item on WhatsApp, with a pin if you can. From there we set about finding a detectorist who can reach it.
