Lost a ring or watch in the Cayman Islands?

Whether it slipped off under a hammock at Rum Point or from a paddleboard on Seven Mile Beach, the search starts from where you were.

Something lost at Smith Barcadere or along Seven Mile Beach can be looked for, and two things weigh most. One is the bottom it fell onto, sand near where you got in or coral farther out; the other is how closely a map pin and a photo can take a detectorist back to that spot.

Ring Seekers is a lost ring and jewelry recovery service that works with experienced local metal detectorists to search for a ring, wedding band, watch, keys or phone lost on the Cayman Islands.

Tell us what happened and where. We choose an experienced detectorist who knows the beach, brief them with your map and photos, and tell you honestly if the odds are poor.

Cayman Islands lost ring and jewelry recovery

Grand Cayman changes from one shore to the next

Seven Mile Beach lines the western side of Grand Cayman, where the Caribbean Sea stays calm all year and the water is shallow over a gentle slope. On the North Side, Rum Point has shallow water too, and Cayman Kai has a lagoon and palm trees.

Smith Barcadere, just south of George Town, is another kind of place: a cove of white sand held in by limestone and coral, with drop-offs you can swim beside while staying near the shore. Farther east, Spotts Beach has its sand between iron-shore cliffs, and in East End the water at the public beach and at Heritage Beach by Frank Sound is full of turtle grass.

Our side of it

You explain it once

The person reading your WhatsApp messages is the one who arranges the search and tells you about it afterwards, so nobody asks you to start the story again.

What the detectorist is handed

Your pin, your photos and the order things happened in: where you sat, where you went into the water, when you noticed. The search starts from that, not from a guess.

Honest about the chances

When we have read your messages and seen the pin, you get our view of the odds in plain words. Nothing is arranged until you have heard it.

Worth writing down today

Note whether you were lying on the sand, swinging in a hammock or out with a mask and fins, and roughly what time it was when you last had the item.

Talking about cost

We explain the costs before any search is booked.

Our Ring Finder Service Locations in Cayman Islands

Grand Cayman first, then the Sister Islands

Most of these are on Grand Cayman, with Cayman Brac and Little Cayman sharing one card near the end.

The beaches themselves

Seven Mile Beach

Soft white sand along the western side of Grand Cayman, with many resorts and hotels built directly on it and restaurants close by. The sea is calm, the water shallow and the slope gentle, so it suits families with children. People snorkel, paddleboard and kayak, and jet skis and other watersports are rented right on the beach.

Governor's Beach and Cemetery Beach

Both are parts of Seven Mile Beach. Governor's Beach is named for the Governor's House beside it, and locals and visitors come for the watersports and the sunsets. Cemetery Beach has soft sand for a walk, and people come to it to snorkel.

West Bay Public Beach

At the north end of Seven Mile Beach, a place to lie in the sun and watch people go by. It has restrooms and changing facilities, a pier and a boat ramp, and several places to eat close by.

Rum Point

On the North Side, white sand and shallow water with hammocks, huts, shady trees, picnic tables and volleyball nets, plus changing rooms and showers. People swim and snorkel here, and some arrive on a boat trip.

Cayman Kai, Kaibo and Starfish Point

Cayman Kai is a secluded spot at the northern tip of Grand Cayman, with accommodations looking out to sea, a lagoon and palm trees, and water good for swimming and watersports. Kaibo and Starfish Point are both on Water Cay Road near Rum Point. Starfish Point is dotted with starfish and surrounded by clear water, and it is a snorkel stop on boat tours.

Smith Barcadere and Spotts Beach

Smith Barcadere, also called Smith Cove, is in South Sound just south of George Town and near the cruise ports, so some visitors come straight off a ship. It has white sand ringed by limestone and coral, and drop-offs you can swim near while staying close to shore. Spotts Beach, off Shamrock Road, faces south, with white sand between iron-shore cliffs, cabanas, benches and barbecue tables. Few boats come by, so the snorkeling is good.

East End Public Beach and Heritage Beach

East End Public Beach is tucked away and is a good place for the sunrise. Weekend events bring residents down, there is a fish fry nearby, and the water is full of turtle grass with small fish sheltering in it. Heritage Beach, also in East End, looks over Frank Sound and has a stage and a boat ramp for concerts and parties, and picnic facilities by the sea. Its turtle grass makes the water unsuited to swimming.

Cayman Brac and Little Cayman

On Cayman Brac, the beach at the Cayman Brac Beach Reef Resort is private, with cabanas, hammocks and a seaside swing, and people dive, snorkel, fish and kayak from it. On Little Cayman, Head O' Bay is on the southern shore near South Hole Sound, among shallow lagoons, and Owen Island lies just off the southwest coast, reached only by sailing or kayaking across. At Point of Sand, on the Sister Islands, the sea stays ankle deep for a stretch before it gradually drops off, and snorkelers there can meet strong currents.

From your phone to the beach

No forms to fill in, only a conversation on WhatsApp.

1

Message us on WhatsApp

Start with the item and the beach. If you were snorkeling, paddleboarding or kayaking at the time, mention that too.

2

Mark where you were, with pictures

Pin the spot on a map, then photograph it from where you stood, once toward the water and once toward the land. A picture of the item itself, even an old one, is useful as well.

3

Finding someone who can get there

We look for a detectorist able to reach that beach and brief them with everything you sent before they set out.

4

Arranged, then reported honestly

The search is arranged, and once it is done you hear honestly how it went, found or not.

Questions about the Cayman Islands

Our loungers were in front of a resort on Seven Mile Beach. Is that enough to go on for a wedding band?

Yes, with one more detail. The water off Seven Mile Beach is calm and shallow over a gentle slope, so a band lost wading close in is a different case from one lost off a paddleboard or jet ski farther out. Tell us which it was and the name of the resort, and drop a pin where your loungers stood.

The cove is white sand ringed by limestone and coral, and it has drop-offs, though you can swim near them and still stay close to shore. If the watch came off over the sand near where you got in, there is somewhere to start. If it went down past a drop-off, that is a long shot, and you would hear that from us first.

The water at Rum Point is shallow and people swim and snorkel off the white sand, so first say whether the bracelet was on your wrist in the water or came off while you lay in a hammock. The hammock or hut you used, and whether you came by car or on a boat trip, both help.

West Bay Public Beach sits at the north end of Seven Mile Beach, with a pier, a boat ramp, restrooms and changing facilities. Say which of those you used, and whether the keys were last in a bag, a pocket or your hand.

They are close together on the North Side but quite different. Cayman Kai has a lagoon and palm trees, while Starfish Point has clear water all round and is a snorkel stop for boat tours. Say which it was, and whether you were in the lagoon, on the sand or snorkeling.

Owen Island is reached only by sailing or kayaking across from Little Cayman, so say whether they fell in on the way or on the islet itself. A plastic pair is a job for sharp eyes or a diver, which is why the frame material matters.

Sand and rock make for different searches. Spotts Beach is white sand between iron-shore cliffs, with cabanas and barbecue tables along it, so tell us whether you were on the sand or had climbed onto the rocks when you last had it, and which cabana you used.
