White gold wedding ring found in the sand at Jerusalem Beach, Tel Aviv, the same day
A white gold wedding ring was lost in the dry sand at Jerusalem Beach in Tel Aviv. The owner messaged us at lunchtime, and the ring was found less than two hours later.

On 26 September a white gold wedding ring went missing in the dry sand at Jerusalem Beach, one of the central beaches on the Tel Aviv seafront. At 12.25pm the owner sent us a message through WhatsApp, asking for help as soon as possible.
The owner did something that makes a sand search much easier. They knew where the ring had gone to within a couple of metres, and they offered to meet the searcher on the beach and point to the exact spot. That matters on a beach like this one, where the sand is soft, deep and walked over all day. A ring that drops into dry sand sinks out of sight within minutes, and every footstep pushes it a little deeper. Looking with your eyes or sifting with your hands rarely works, but the ring is still there, usually close to where it fell.
Our local detectorist was free to come straight away. At 1.22pm the owner shared a map pin for the spot, and the two met on the beach. At 2pm the message came in: the ring had been found.
That is about an hour and a half from the first message to the ring being back in the owner’s hand, and under forty minutes from the map pin to the find.
Two things made this quick. The owner got in touch the same day, before the sand had been raked or turned over, and they could stand on the spot where it was lost.
